Lark & Jake
There’s something truly special about starting the morning of your wedding in the place where your story began. For Lark, that meant getting ready in her childhood home in Columbia—surrounded by family, old photographs, and the familiar hum of voices she’s heard her whole life. The house was filled with the scent of fresh flowers, curling irons clicking on, and the happy chaos of bridesmaids bustling in and out.
From the start, Lark and Jake knew they wanted a day that felt personal, joyful, and unmistakably them. Their vision was brought to life in a palette of soft pinks, airy periwinkle, and cheerful yellow—a combination that felt as warm and vibrant as their personalities.
The ceremony took place at the charming Bears Chapel in Columbia, a beautiful historic church with sunlight streaming through its windows and wooden pews polished by decades of love stories. Lark’s walk down the aisle was nothing short of breathtaking—her lace gown catching the light, her bouquet bursting with ranunculus, garden roses, and pops of sunny yellow blooms. Jake, waiting at the altar in a tailored navy suit, couldn’t hide the grin that spread across his face the moment he saw her.
Surrounded by friends, family, and their close-knit community, the ceremony was full of heartfelt moments—from Jake’s tearful vows to the soft laugh they shared as the minister spoke about their shared love of adventure. The sound of the chapel bell ringing as they exited was the perfect punctuation to their “I do.”
From there, guests made their way to Simpson College in Columbia for the reception—a space that perfectly blended historic charm with a fresh, colorful celebration. Long tables were dressed in soft periwinkle linens, adorned with show stopping arrangements of pink peonies, yellow tulips, and delicate blue delphinium. Gold accents and vintage glassware added a touch of timeless elegance.
As the evening sun filtered through the windows, the couple shared their first dance—slow, sweet, and full of quiet smiles. Soon after, the dance floor filled with guests of all ages, twirling under strings of warm lights and the sound of a live band playing everything from classics to crowd favorites.
There was no mistaking the joy in the air. It wasn’t just about the gorgeous flowers or the perfect venue—it was about the way Lark and Jake’s love seemed to make everyone feel at home. Planning this wedding was a privilege, and watching these two begin their marriage surrounded by such genuine warmth and celebration was a reminder of why small-town weddings hold such a special kind of magic.
