There’s something undeniably special about a wedding hosted at home, and Alegra and Kenny’s backyard celebration was the perfect example of love, community, and creativity woven together. Set at the groom’s family home, their day was brimming with intimate touches that reflected not only their story but also the people closest to them.
The ceremony was heartfelt from the very start, with their sweet daughter joyfully walking down the aisle as the flower girl. In one of the most memorable and meaningful moments, guests contributed small scraps of fabric that were later stitched together into a quilt—a tangible symbol of community and connection that the couple will treasure for years to come. A dear friend wrote and performed a heartfelt poem during the ceremony, leaving not a dry eye in the crowd.
The reception felt like a joyful picnic-meets-dance-party. Alegra and Kenny’s best friends brought the love in another way—by feeding everyone! The couple’s favorite local pizzeria, Therefore Pizza, provided delicious pies, while desserts came from Prairie Pie, owned by one of the bride’s closest friends. It was the ultimate feast of friendship and flavor.
Design-wise, the couple leaned into a retro, groovy picnic vibe that matched their playful personalities. A custom colorful checkered dance floor became the centerpiece, surrounded by serpentine tables dressed in pink checkered linens, glowing table lamps, and bright, cheerful flowers. The whole setting felt inviting, unique, and full of joy.
As the evening went on, the sweetest toasts from Kenny’s siblings highlighted just how loved this couple is. Laughter, tears, and cheers filled the air before everyone spilled onto the dance floor to celebrate.
